Democratic Alliance (DA) Member of Parliament for the Committee on Justice and Constitutional development, Damien Klooper says the NPA is failing at the basics, with the most recent example being the Timothy Omotoso case. The DA held a briefing this morning to discuss the failures of the National Prosecuting Authority regarding priority crimes and state capture. Klopper, says establishing an anti-corruption unit, would be an effective way of boosting prosecutions. While the SA government have not yet revealed if the Proteas team and management will receive bonuses for winning the World Test Championship, they are still in store for a massive payday.
The ICC will pay out around R64 million to the Proteas, depending on the exchange rate, as the winners will pocket $18 million for their efforts. The breakdown of what players will receive has not been detailed, but the money will likely be split among the players, coaching and support staff, and Cricket SA. SA government yet to confirm if  Proteas team, management will receive ICC victory bonuses 

Eastern Cape Cogta MEC, Zolile Williams says the provincial government will identify land to relocate the flood victims in Mthatha in the province. Williams was speaking ahead of the day of mourning for the flood victims at at King Sabatha Dalindyebo College in Mthatha. As a temporary solution, the victims have been accommodated to Bed and Breakfast accommodation. Williams was speaking before the commencement of a memorial service currently underway for the 92 who died during last week's floods in the province.
