While the SA government have not yet revealed if the Proteas team and management will receive bonuses for winning the World Test Championship, they are still in store for a massive payday.
The ICC will pay out around R64 million to the Proteas, depending on the exchange rate, as the winners will pocket $18 million for their efforts. The breakdown of what players will receive has not been detailed, but the money will likely be split among the players, coaching and support staff, and Cricket SA. National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola has told the Adhoc Committee investigating criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the justice system that the Political Killings Task Team was disbanded to prevent the investigation of Gauteng cases. Masemola says from the communications or chats between Matlala and Mogotsi the minister of police was being communicated to or kept informed.

KwaZulu-Natal police say a 22-year-old suspect who had been arrested for attempted murder was shot and killed after attacking officers inside the holding cells at Ntuzuma police station on Monday morning. Police say the suspect overpowered two officers, took keys to the main door and assaulted them before grabbing a firearm from responding officers and opening fire. Tactical teams later intervened and fatally wounded him. Two officers sustained minor injuries during the scuffle. Authorities say the situation was contained after several tense minutes. KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda  explains
