Half of all teachers surveyed are considering leaving the profession within the next decade, citing burnout, administrative overload, and a lack of mental health support as key drivers. Stellenbosch University Reports reveals that half of SA teachers are considering leaving the profession

President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Leonard Lekgetho as head of the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) with effect from Tuesday. Lekgetho has been the acting head of the SIU following Advocate Andy Mothibi’s departure from the unit in February to become the National Director of Public Prosecutions. Presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says Lekgetho brings 19 years of experience from serving in diverse portfolios, including as an investigator in the former Directorate of Special Operations known as the Scorpions. “President Ramaphosa wishes Mr Lekgetho and the leadership and staff of the SIU well, as Mr Lekgetho assumes leadership of an agency that is a critical component of the criminal justice architecture against crime and corruption.”Presidential spokesperson is Vincent Magwenya

Mamelodi Sundowns will meet Orlando Pirates in the MTN 8 final after a thrilling weekend.
Pirates put three past Sekhukhune in the second leg of their semifinal while Sundowns came from behind to hold on to an away goal win against Golden Arrows. The final is scheduled for the 10th of OCtober with the venue still to be announced. It looks like it will be the Moses Mabhida stadium.It has hosted the final 6 ties in the last 9 years. Airlink has defended its low-level formation flyover ahead of the rugby match between the Springboks and the All Blacks at Cape Town's DHL Stadium on Saturday. The flyover has gone viral with many spectators initially questioning on social media if the surreal footage was artificial intelligence-generated. Airlink says no safety regulations were violated and the flyover had the approval of the South African Civil Aviation Authority. The experience has since prompted people to express concerns on social media and online forums, with some raising questions about the safety of the flyby.
