Former EFF secretary-general, Godrich Gardee has has accused Eswatini Monarch, Mswati the 3rd, of used foreign intelligence to kill his daughter, Hillary Gardee. He says his twitter account has not been hacked, adding that he stands by tweets he posted on his official page on Tuesday morning in which he notes how on the 12th of April 2022, he led a protest which saw four borders with Eswatini being shutdown for more than 6 hours. This protest, Gardee alleges, angered the King of eSwatini and who allegedly unleashed his foreign intelligence services with a robbery decoy resulting in the death of his daughter, Hilary. Western Cape police have launched a murder and attempted murder investigation following a fatal shooting incident in Rocklands, Mitchells Plain, on Tuesday afternoon. This was after three people were shot and fatally wounded. Police say the deceased have been identified as a 39-year-old woman, a 29-year-old man, and a 36-year-old man. A 15-year-old girl was among those who were shot during the incident; she sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Preliminary reports indicate that an unknown grey vehicle stopped in front of the residence. Three unidentified males, whose faces were concealed with balaclavas, allegedly entered the house and opened fire on the occupants before fleeing the scene. Chief Electoral Officer IEC Sy Mamabolo has announced a special voter registration weekend will be on 20 and 21 June 2026. Mamabolo says this is designed to make it easier for eligible South Africans to register or update their details closer to where they ordinarily reside. Mamabolo says once the voting date has been announced, voters must vote at the voting station where they are registered.
