The Hawks, in collaboration with Interpol South Africa, will facilitate the extradition of six Nigerian nationals to the United States.The six men are alleged members of the Black Axe organised crime network and are wanted in the US for wire fraud and money laundering. They allegedly defrauded more than 100 American women of over 100 million rand through sophisticated online romance scams, targeting pensioners and business people. The suspects were arrested in South Africa in 2021. They will be handed over to FBI and US Secret Service officials at Cape Town International Airport this afternoon.
