Police Minister Bheki Cele has told Parliament that the South African Police Service (SAPS) can't meet the country's policing demands. Parliament's Police Committee has called on SAPS management to work hard at restoring the public's confidence in police. This follows a briefing by police management on a Western Cape High Court judgment that found that the provincial police have been infiltrated by gangsters.
