The Madlanga Commission heard evidence from a World Bank anti-corruption expert on Thursday (9 July). Dr Albertus Schoeman testified about the financial disclosure regimes applicable within South Africa's criminal justice system. Schoeman also told the Commission that no full lifestyle audits have been conducted on the leadership of the South African Police Service over the past five years. Meanwhile, the Commission's deadline has been extended, with evidence now expected to conclude by 2 October 2026.
