Kenyan President William Ruto has withdrawn the contentious finance bill that sparked nationwide deadly protests. Ruto says he has listened to the people and expressed his condolences to the families who lost loved ones during the demonstrations. Scores of protesters stormed some sections of the country's parliament yesterday. This after lawmakers had voted in favour of tax hikes seeking to raise an additional 2,7 billion dollars. UK Conservative Party leader, Rishi Sunak has resigned as Conservative Party leader after a catastrophic performance. The Labour has won the United Kingdom general election in a landslide victory, ending 14 years of Conservative government. Britain's Labour Party leader Keir Starmer will be the new prime minister. The Democratic Alliance's (DA's) ICT draft policy reveales that it would propose holding public hearings to determine whether South Africa needs a public broadcaster. If it is determined that South Africa no longer requires the SABC, the DA would propose that it be broken up and sold. The DA's draft policy highlights several other proposals and determines if the public broadcaster should be scrapped. These proposals are for scenarios where South Africa decides that the SABC should remain. Former South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) board member Michael Markovitz joins us on the line to share his views on this matter....

Mpumalanga MEC for Community safety, security and liaison, Jacke Macia and Acting Provincial Commissioner, Zeph Mkhwanazi are today visiting the bereaved families of the two children who were reported missing in Mpumalanga recently. Junior Mabandla went missing in the beginning of last month and Peaceful Khosa disappeared this week on Wednesday. The community launched a man hunt and  search and eventually apprehended a man who was found burning what he called rubbish, when interrogated about the the whereabouts of the three-year-old, it was discovered that he had allegedly killed her before allegedly burning her body in the rubbish.
