Former Deputy Finance Minister, Mcebisi Jonas has revealed that Ajay Gupta had allegedly threatened to kill him if he spoke about a meeting where he was offered 600-Million rands and the position of Finance Minister. Jonas has been giving his testimony at the Zondo Commission into State Capture currently underway in Parktown, Johannesburg. Jonas says former president Jacob Zuma' son Duduzani Zuma and businessman, Fana Hlongwana had arranged and were present at this meeting with Ajay Gupta

Jonas says Ajay Gupta threatened his life if he told about the R600 million offer

The National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA) says it will pursue full prosecution of Daybreak for abandonment, neglect, and unnecessary cruelty of animals. This comes after it the NSPCA culled over 200-thousand chickens at poultry farm operated by Daybreak Foods near Delmas, Mpumalanga. The chickens were severely neglected, left without feed for days, resulting in mass cannibalism. National Council of SPCAs describes animal cruelty at Daybreak Foods as "one of the worst" they've ever dealt with 

National Police Commissioner, General Fanie Masemola has thanked Constable Boipelo Senoge for her dedication in serving her country through the SAPS. He spoke at her funeral held at St. Peter Anglican church at Rocklands in Bloemfontein. Senoge was stationed in Parkweg Police station in Bloemfontein since July 2024.Constable Senoge died alongside two of her colleagues - Costables Cebekhulu Linda and Keabetswe Buys. The bodies of the three officers were recovered from the Hennops River at Centurion, (Gauteng)  last week after they had gone missing on the 23rd of April. They were last seen by their families when they left their homes in Bloemfontein travelling to their area of deployment in Limpopo. However the search for the three constables reached a tragic end this week  when the first two bodies were found while the third body was recove shortly after. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC reporter, Kamohelo Tsotetsi  who is following the story for us...

Hawks Head, General Godfrey Lebeya says operations are underway to clamp down on the rise in cases of kidnapping for ransom in South Africa. Speaking members of the media during an update on the unit's activities for the fourth quarter of the 2024/2025 financial year, Lebeya said a total of 24 kidnapping for ransom cases had been reported to the period in question.
