President Cyril Ramaphosa is tomorrow expected to visit the site of a building which collapsed in George in the Western Cape more than a week ago. The death toll stands at 33, including seven South Africans. Twelve workers are still in hospital and 19 others remain unaccounted for. The Presidential spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya, says various ministers and deputy ministers that have visited the site are working closely with the Disaster Joint Operations Centre, the provincial government and the Garden Route District Municipality. Magwenya says the President has expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and support for the survivors. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC reporter, Sagree Chetty...

Families of dozens killed in Western Cape building collapse continue daunting process of identifying the remains of their loved ones

Eastern Cape Safety MEC, Xolile Nqatha, is expected to visit the family of six members who were shot and killed last week in Tsolo. Nqatha together with the police are expected to update the family on the progress made to arrest the suspects. Police say it's alleged a 43 year- old male was killed in his grandfather's homestead in Mpoza location. In the second incident also in the same location, two males were found with bullet wounds. Not far from the scene, three more people between the ages 62 and 67 years- old were also shot. Police say all the victims were related. The motive behind the shootings is unknown. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to David Bruce, a consultant on policing and public security with the Institute for Security Studies

The trial of Husband and wife, Sibusiso  and Lerato Mahlangu accused of killing Lerato's former boyfriend and father of her child, Sibusiso Sithebe, has resumed in the high court in Pretoria. Sibusiso & Lerato Mahlangu allegedly invited the father of Lerato's child, Sibusiso Sithebe, to the couple's home where they allegedly killed him & set his remains on fire in order to claim R500 000 in life insurance. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC reporter, Phumzile Mlangeni

The business community says this will have a negative effect on their businesses. Others are even asking questions as to why the load reduction is only being brought back after the elections.
