As vote counting progresses and results begin to come in, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) are once again involved in the South African elections. CSIR, SABC collaborate to forecast South African election results

The Special Investigation Unit says the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has failed to design and implement controls to ensure that there is an annual reconciliation between the funds disbursed to institutions of higher learning and the allocation of those funds to the students. This as the SIU has urged students who received NSFAS funds unduly to come forward. The SIU says its in the process of collecting more that 112 Million rands from beneficiaries who did not qualify to be funded by NSFAS. Udo Carelse spoke to SIU spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago

Civil society organisation, Joburg Crisis Alliance is calling for the resignation of the Johannesburg Executive Mayor Kabelo Gwamanda, citing a sharp decline in citizen confidence and continuing failures by the city's leadership. The organisation says that under Gwamanda, the city's mishandling electricity tariffs and water cuts have intensified. American Airlines has blamed what it calls technical issue on Crowdstrike, an antivirus software. Here in South Africa, there were delays in updating the Johannesburg Stock Exchange's data, with Capitec bank also severely affected, as customers could not transact or communicate with the bank.
