Some medical organizations and associations are calling on the South African government to regulate the use of hubbly bubbly, vaping and other unregulated tobacco products, stating concerns over marketing tactics that promote the use of these products as a safe option to smoking cigarettes. They say it is concerning that hubbly bubbly and vaping are widely promoted and marketed as less harmful when in actual fact, they are more dangerous than other tobacco products, including cigarettes. This comes in the wake of the SABC recently broadcasting a story educating the public on the dangers of smoking hubbly bubbly, deemed by doctors as a silent killer. SABC reporter, Sellwane Khakhau filed this report.
