City of Johannesburg' mayoral candidate Mlungisi Mabaso took his campaign to Kokotela Informal settlement in the South. Mabaso says now it will be in the hands of the electorate to change their fortunes by casting their votes. We are just a few days away to November 4, political parties are ramping up their campaigns ahead of this weekend's final election rallies. This year's local government elections is carrying a long list of grievances. These are unemployment which is above 30%, an unstable coalition era and decaying infrastructure. To discuss how critical issues like water scarcity (such as the Tshwane water crisis), uncollected refuse, non-functioning infrastructure, and financial mismanagement are dominating voter priorities. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Governance and Political Analyst Hlumelo Xaba,

More than 2.6 million special vote applications have been approved, while its results system has been declared fit for purpose. Provincial Results Operations Centres are also being activated.
