The Alliance Political Council, comprising of the top six officials of the African National Congress, the South African Communist Party and the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) are expected to meet at 2pm today in order to consolidate discussions around the possible formation of a Government of National Unity. This comes less than 72 hours before the first sitting of the National Assembly on Friday which is aimed at nominating a president elect, electing a speaker of parliament and his or her deputy. SACP's General Secretary Solly Mapaila says the ANC should not complicate matters but including the DA into the mix. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Senior SABC Politics reporter, Ntebo Mokobo.
