Independent journalist Richie McGinniss joins Joe Pags for a firsthand look back at January 6 from someone who was actually on the ground at the Capitol.
Richie describes what he saw as the crowd moved toward the Capitol, how quickly the scene changed, and why he believes a relatively small number of agitators could have helped trigger a much larger chaotic response.
He also reveals that, after reviewing his own footage, he realized he had been standing right next to Ray Epps as Epps was leaving the area.
The conversation also digs into questions surrounding plainclothes law-enforcement presence, who was arrested, who received lighter treatment, and Richie’s ongoing research into individuals who were at the Capitol that day. Richie specifically says he has been investigating Ray Epps and others he believes “got off easy.”
Joe and Richie separate what Richie personally witnessed from the questions he is still investigating — and ask the bigger question:
Do we really know the full story of January 6?
