This week Billy jumped on the phone for arguably his biggest interview yet.. Gary Lighbody is the lead singer and co-founder of Scottish Irish Rockers Snow Patrol.

In 10 years Snow Patrol have cemented their spot as one of the worlds top selling rock acts selling over 20 million albums worldwide and playing to sold out audiences on multiple world stages including tours with U2 and Coldplay.

Billy and Gary spoke about that fateful first day at university when he met fellow original now ex band member Michael McClelland to form the first version of the band at that time called Shrug.

Nirvana was huge at the time and Gary was spellbound by Kurt Cobain and his band , he tried to emulate him in his music style and lyrics. So how did Nirvana and Heavy Metal lead to the sound of Snow Patrol??

In 2004 with the release of Eyes Open and the hit Chasing Cars the band got alot of attention and success selling over 7.5 million copies and having the title of the most downloaded song in the UK in the early 2000's. Gary talked about how the band dealt with all that success and the challenges to stay together.

Gary and the boys are about to release their 8th studio album called Re-worked which is all their hits from their entire catalogue ell as 3 brand new tracks.
