In a commutation spree two days before Christmas, the Biden administration shocked the nation’s conscience by commuting the sentences of 37 of the 40 murderers on federal death row. They include a man who kidnapped and murdered a 12 year old girl. Men who killed a family, including two children. A killer who assaulted and then stabbed two little girls. A cop killer. A Marine killer. And more.
These commutations aren’t justice. They’re lawlessness. Congress put the death penalty in place for certain heinous crimes, and as the nation’s chief executive, Joe Biden is supposed to be enforcing the law, not setting it aside wholesale.
Of course, we all know Joe Biden is no longer running his administration—if he ever was. These 37 commutations are a clear sign of a president who simply isn’t there, and a White House staff who couldn’t care less about his legacy, the victims of crime … or justice.
