In the first story, Genesis shares a story about a fresh university graduate in Shenzhen who had just moved into a cheap, cramped, rental unit. Early on, she noticed a persistent soft cracking sound, similar to someone cracking open sunflower seeds, that annoyed her. Later on, upon further inspection, she noticed a small, pink-finger sized hole in the wall near her power socket.

In the second story, tragedy unfolds as Daniel, a father to be, comes home to find his apartment unusually quiet. After looking around, he finds his wife, Rachel, who was eight months pregnant, slumped on the bathroom floor surrounded by blood.
