It's easier to ask for permission than to seek forgiveness.
This is today's single Christian, and I'm Lina Abujamra. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Ever heard that before? I bet David didn't think of that on the day God confronted him about Bathsheba. David had skipped the war. He was bored. He looked out his window and saw Bathsheba. Now this is where he could have asked for permission of God, of Nathan, of his other wise men. And we'd have guessed what he would have been told. Instead, David moved forward, not seeking permission until he was stopped in his tracks and had to ask for forgiveness. And oh, the pain. Oh, the consequences of his sin. If only he had stopped long enough to ask for permission, instead of waiting to ask for forgiveness. We all love to flirt with sin and make exceptions for our actions, but sooner or later God confronts us and asks us to repent. What if today we stopped and asked for permission before jumping into sin? We might be spared a whole lot of pain. For more, visit today's single christian.com.
