Justice Christopher Beale spent the past two weeks weighing whether Patterson should spend the rest of her life in prison or be given a chance at parole in the future. The Supreme Court of Victoria broadcast her sentencing live in a historic first for the state with all eyes watching as she was handed a life sentence with a non-parole period of 33 years.
