Comedian Jeff Allen joins the program to talk about his new book Are We There Yet?--My Journey from a Messed-Up to Meaningful Life.

Allen grew up in Chicago (his father troweled the last step of the highest point of the Sears Tower) and was on the Philadelphia Phillies' radar to potentially draft when he was a freshman in college. Alcohol, drugs and other problems derailed Allen's athletic career, and over time his life began to spiral out of control (including narrowly escaping going to jail for 3-5 years for being caught with cocaine in his car...and just two nights later, driving home the wrong way on the expressway).

Married with children, his challenges grew--when in his darkest season, Allen discovered the Source of true meaning while reading the book of Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament.

"Ma" Campbell is the Eastern PA Regional Coordinator and has served 32 years in support of the NDOP. She offers encouragement to participate, be it at an official event (such as the Liberty Prayer Alert (10am-2pm on the Independence Visitors Center grounds in Philadelphia) where Mary will be) or simply right where you are at any point tomorrow. This year's theme is "Lift Up The Word--Light Up The World" based on 2 Samuel 22:29-31. More information is available at www.nationaldayofprayer.org.

Mary is 93 years young and has worked with AM 560 WFIL & sister station AM 990 WNTP (formerly WZZD) for 37 years. She is very excited about the NDOP and is a woman of God who lives a life of prayer.

Dave Spadaro, Philadelphia Eagles Insider, is not 93 but has worked with the team about the same amount of time (35 years) as Mary has with WFIL :). We're privileged to have Spadaro on the program today as well, discussing several columns he wrote recently pertaining to the 2024 NFL Draft (including thoughts on Howie Roseman's approach and the addition of Jeremiah Trotter Jr) and A.J.
