We discuss his book Stories, Sports, and Songs featuring 101 short chapters full of Philadelphia history (where he was born and raised), his journalism, media & broadcasting path, a wide variety of people Schoening has met and worked with, and songs he has written along the way that often complement his ongoing story. "Philly Billy"--or in the case of Spurs superstar Tim "The Big Fundamental" Duncan, who has always just called Schoening "Philly"--has announced close to 2200 consecutive Spurs games (including preseason and 4 Spurs championship runs). He enters his 24th season with the team next week.

Culture writer & reporter Ashley Spencer joins the show to discuss her first book, Disney High: The Untold Story of the Rise & Fall of Disney Channel's Tween Empire. Spencer spoke with over 150 people involved with the Disney Channel in the 1990s and 2000s, from actors, singers and writers to coaches, choreographers and wigmakers to animators, songwriters and executives. In addition to the names you might expect to read about, Ashley includes influential figures you probably haven't heard of and presents historical context from business and cultural standpoints.

Actor Scott Patterson also checks in regarding his new TV show "Sullivan's Crossing" and and in the process reveals how much of a Phillies fan he is, with a very clear plug for one current Phillie to make the postseason roster. Best-known for his role as Luke Danes in Gilmore Girls, Patterson also shares about his Gilmore Girls rewatch podcast "I Am All In with Scott Patterson."

Patterson has appeared in many films and TV shows including Seinfeld, 90210 and CSI: Miami.
