Culture writer & reporter Ashley Spencer joins the show to discuss her first book, Disney High: The Untold Story of the Rise & Fall of Disney Channel's Tween Empire. Spencer spoke with over 150 people involved with the Disney Channel in the 1990s and 2000s, from actors, singers and writers to coaches, choreographers and wigmakers to animators, songwriters and executives. In addition to the names you might expect to read about, Ashley includes influential figures you probably haven't heard of and presents historical context from business and cultural standpoints.
Actor Scott Patterson also checks in regarding his new TV show "Sullivan's Crossing" and and in the process reveals how much of a Phillies fan he is, with a very clear plug for one current Phillie to make the postseason roster. Best-known for his role as Luke Danes in Gilmore Girls, Patterson also shares about his Gilmore Girls rewatch podcast "I Am All In with Scott Patterson."
