Timmy is Off, So We’ve Got Jimmy Eat Talk with Closet Emo King Andy Riesmeyer

Hour 1 (11.04) KTLA’s Andy Riesmeyer is filling in for Timmy C tonight while the city works through its post-Election Day hangover and the votes are tallied. Results will get a full look as the night goes on. First up: A round of impressions — and impressions of impressions. Andy’s superstition is that if a newsroom or radio station is too nice, the show suffers, so the general scrappiness around here is a good sign. KFI is no place for germaphobes, except Tim. Andy just got back from a little vacation in San Francisco and was shocked how clean it’s become in the two years since Daniel Lurie was elected. Whoever ends up mayor of LA — Karen Bass or Nithya Raman — needs to take a page from San Francisco’s book.

Breaking sad news: Longtime ABC and CBS anchor Harold Greene has died at 82. He was the inspiration for “Anchorman.”

Andy admits he loves collecting and restoring old cars; he’s selling one on an auction site with no reserve and is nervous nobody bids or they lowball him.

Prop 38 didn’t get much attention until a post on X went viral. The measure would put about $9 billion into immunization clinical studies, with roughly $4.6 billion going to a nonprofit run by three people, one of whom is billionaire spinal surgeon Gary K. Michelson, who put the prop on the ballot. He spent more than $70 million of his own money to get it there.

The crew then debates the importance of emo princes Jimmy Eat World, who play the Hollywood Bowl this weekend.
