This week, executive mayor Pule Shayi and mayor of Greater Giyani Municipality, Thandi Zitha, met with community stakeholders to discuss the draft plans to improve and expand water provision to communities around N'wamanungu Dam (formerly Middle-Letaba Dam). Community stakeholders had until yesterday to submit input on the draft. The executive mayor wants to work with the local municipality to identifying and report illegal connections and water theft. It is expected that Minister of Water and Sanitation Pemmy Majodina will meet with the communities before the end of next month to present their findings of the ministerial independent investigation into alleged illegal blockages of tributaries feeding the dam.

ActionSA has criticized President Cyril Ramaphosa for failing to take serious action against police officials implicated in criminality. This follows Ramaphosa's announcement that National Police Commissioner, Fannie Masemola has been placed on precautionary suspension pending the outcome of his case. Masemola faces four counts of contravening the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). The party's criticism also follows the suspension of Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, who faces allegations of corruption and political interference.

The Madlanga Commission has examined text messages between suspended Tshwane Metro Police deputy chief, Umashi Dhlamini and Sergeant Fannie Nkosi. Evidence before the Commission suggests that Dhlamini allegedly used Nkosi as an intermediary to communicate with suspended Tshwane CFO, Gareth Mnisi. It's further alleged that this channel was used in an attempt to influence tenders at the City of Tshwane.
