 INTRO:  Residents in Louis Trichardt, Limpopo, have welcomed the University of Venda's plan to build a satellite campus in the area. They believe that it will bring the much needed development. The institution says the plan announced in the past few years, is still in place. The satellite campus will house a business school, research centres, a convention centre and a boutique hotel amongst others. The campus is expected to create nearly two thousand jobs. KwaZulu-Natal Premier - Thami Ntuli - says Lt. General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi's contract as the provincial police commissioner has been renewed. Ntuli made the announcement at a crime imbizo in the Pietermaritzburg area today. He earlier expressed concern about a lack of clarity in the status of Mkhwanazi's contract as it was to expire at the end of this month. Ntuli had met with national police commissioner - Fani Masemola - several times to discuss the matter. In accordance with the constitution the national police commissioner appoints a provincial commissioner in concurrence with the provincial executive, represented by the premier.
