INTRO: Seven communities that were previously dispossessed of land in Kruger National Park have signed a framework agreement for beneficiation schemes with SANParks. This marks a new chapter for these communities, who have been in discussions with the park for more than ten years. Among other things, they will now be prioritized for opportunities such as employment at the park. This event coincides with the centenary celebrations of the Kruger National Park, starting today. Organisers of the Conference of the Left have dismissed suggestions that they are setting up a political parties. They brief the media on their readiness to host the conference of the left leaning political parties and social movements. The SACP sponsored three day gathering, is called to rebuild the organised power of the working class and the poor. It was reported that it will be attended by several political parties, trade unions and federations, academics and social and community organisations from home and abroad. The meeting started in Boksburg starts east of Johannesburg yesterday on Friday until tomorrow on Sunday, with a conference declaration. At least 300 delegates are expected to attend the SACP' sponsored Conference of the Left in Gauteng this weekend. The second interim report from the Madlanga Commission is expected to be handed to President yesterday (Fri). President Ramaphosa established the Commission in September 2025, following allegations of corruption and alleged political interference in law enforcement agencies. Since its establishment, the Madlanga Commission has heard testimony from 60 witnesses who testified on alleged corruption within these organisations. The South African National Parks says the Kruger National Park remains one of the country's critical destinations, attracting close to 2 million tourists a year. This year marks 100 years since the Park was proclaimed as the country's first national park. In 1926 the Kruger National Park was transformed from a game reserve to a tourist attraction that prioritises nature conservation.The Kruger National Park remains one of the largest protected areas in the world. It takes up at least 2 million hectares of land. (SANParks), says the park still remains an attractive natural asset a century later. For more on the planned activities for KNP 100 years of its existence, we are now joined by the park's spokesperson Mr Reynold Thakhuli.......
