INTRO:
Cllr Miyelani Chauke has been elected as the new Executive Mayor of Vhembe District Municipality in replacement of the former Executive Mayor, Cllr Fridah Nkondo in a Special Council Meeting today. Chauke was elected after the nominees were put forward by two political parties, which are the ANC and EFF, where Chauke won the elections with 38 votes, while the EFF candidate received 6 votes. Following his swearing-in, Cllr Chauke expressed gratitude and also acknowledged the work of those who came before him.

FOCUS: The Presenter Interviews Professor Ntwanano Mathebula, on analytical views focusing on the ConCourt's ruling in the Phala Phala matter.

INTRO: Some of the political analysts say the office of the Public Protector, the SA Reserrve Bank, the NPA and the South Revenue Service all stand acused of abdicating their responsibilities in the Phala Phala saga. All four institutions dealt with the matter and found no wrong-doing on the partt of the president in their investigations. But yesterday, the Constitutional Court ruled that Parliament was wrong in rejecting the Section 89 Panel Report which found that Presient Cyril Ramaphosa has a case to answer. Meanwhile, EFF leader, Julius Malema said that he will write the National Assembly Speaker, Thoko Didiza to urgently establish an empeachment committee.
