INTRO: RISE Mzansi has claimed that more than 25-million rands was paid in salaries to 233 suspended SAPS officers in less than two years. The party says the payments went to officers facing serious charges including rape, corruption, extortion and robbery. RISE Mzansi's Makashule Gana says it is unacceptable for officers accused of such crimes to continue receiving state salaries, while cases remain unresolved. Gana says the party will seek urgent accountability from SAPS leadership and IPID to restore public trust in the police service.
