Antonio Guterres, the secretary-general of the United Nations, reports to the Security Council during an emergency meeting and claims that chaos is taking place in Lebanon. The escalation, Guterres emphasises, should worry the international community since Lebanon is now in danger. Furthermore, the UN Chief demanded that Lebanese sovereignty be upheld considering rumours that Israel may be preparing a land invasion to open new fronts in its conflict in Gaza. According to reports Lebanese minister of health, Dr. Firass Abiad, said 25 people have been killed in the country since midnight local time as Israel continued its strikes on Hezbollah targets. Tens of thousands of people have been displaced following a flare-up in hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.
