On this day in 1921, Mary Winston Jackson was born in Hampton, Virginia. She would go on to become NASA's first Black female engineer. / On this day in 1816, the African Methodist Episcopal Church was formed when Richard Allen and Daniel Coker called Black Methodists to meet in Philadelphia.
