Crossbench MPS in the parliament are pushing for stronger legal powers focused on greater oversight when it comes Australian defense equipment, technology or services being used where they could breach Australia’s international human rights obligations.

The Redline legislation is a private-members bill introduced into both the Senate and House of Representations that aims to prohibit defense exports when there is a risk of genocide, war crimes, or crimes against humanity.
