Hey, y'all, it's doctor Joy. In collaboration with author and breathwork expert z Clark Therapy for Black Girls, is excited to present to you a six part meditation series thoughtfully crafted to guide you easily through the moments that might make the holiday season difficult. Happy holidays, y'all, and take good care.

Hosting the holidays. Another situation you might experience during the holidays is that you have agreed to host the festivities for the very first time. You might be feeling anxious about having to entertain so many people. Between all of the food you're going to prepare, all the decorations that need to be set up, and making sure that everyone gets along and has a good time, it might be overwhelming. And when you're feeling overwhelmed, don't forget to breathe. Breathe with me now, Deep breath in through the nose, deep breath out through the mouth. Remember to give yourself some grace. It doesn't have to be perfect. Your best is good enough and will be appreciated. And don't hesitate to ask for help. You don't need to be a hero. You don't need to be the one to do everything. So what can you delegate and to whom who can you ask to help you? Just as you are always willing to help others, they are willing to help you. And all you need to do is ask. I invite you to pause and answer this question, what can I do to practice self care during this period? Maybe it's taking a nap, Maybe it's asking your partner for a MA sage. Maybe it's taking some solo time to watch your favorite TV show or movie. You know what you need best, so identify what will help you to feel rejuvenated and make sure you prioritize doing that. While your heart is filled with love for all of the people you are creating this wonderful experience for, remember to take care of you.
