Having reached more than 10,000 students and professionals through learning and training programmes, and drawing on her own personal experience of finding hope and escape in a book she read in Grade 9, Zanele understands better than most what literacy can mean for a young person's life. Her No-Valo Foundation is also set to open the Zanele Maduna Knowledge and Wellness Hub at Esokwazi Secondary School in Sebokeng on 12 September 2026, combining a restored library, counselling room and wellness space for Grade 8 to 12 learners, just in time for International Literacy Day. This is the kind of work that changes the trajectory of a nation.
