Finance Minister, Enoch Godogwana is set to appoint a new Board at the Public Investment Corporation, following the resignation of the Deputy Finance Minister David Masondo as the funds chairperson and other board members. Godogwana is in consultation with Cabinet regarding this matter in line with the Public Investment Corporation Act. This week, The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs released the number of fatalities in the 2026 winter initiation season. CogTa and the CRL Rights Commission have confirmed the deaths of 43 initiates across the country. Mpumalanga recorded the highest fatalities at 18, followed by the Eastern Cape with 14.The rising death toll has sparked renewed calls for stronger action to protect initiates and hold those responsible to account .. Mbuyiselo Botha, founder member of the South Africa Men's forum is making a plea to end the deaths of initiates and he spoke to Bongiwe Zwane

As South Africa's water crisis reaches a breaking point, the presidency says the National Water Action Plan (NWAP) outlines strategic interventions to address the water crisis over the short, medium and long term, with the aim  to address the root causes of the water supply challenges in many municipalities.
