Why we undermine our own success and how to overcome self-sabotage

View descriptionShare

No one goes into a relationship with the hope of it ending and nobody sets goals with the attempt to fail however the fear of failing sometimes hinders one from achieving those goals! Self-sabotaging behaviour refers to intentional or unintentional actions that hinder a person's success; while it may seem counterintuitive, some individuals undermine their own progress often due to deep-seated fears, insecurities or past experiences. These destructive behaviours can manifest in different areas of life, from career setbacks to relationship struggles, ultimately limiting personal growth and fulfilment.
Whether through procrastination, self-doubt or unhealthy coping mechanisms, self-sabotage creates barriers that keep individuals from reaching their full potential. People may consciously engage in self-destructive actions, such as binge eating while on a diet, or unconsciously like repeatedly missing deadlines due to fear of failure. We are joined on the line by Diana Mabala, Therapist and Tendani Mulaudzi founder of Liberite Writing Workshop and has overcome self-sabotage
