WHINE DOWN WEDNESDAY: Nando’s Creative Exchange Showcases Southern African Talent

View descriptionShare

The Nando’s Creative Exchange (NCX) exhibition, “The Promise” opened its doors on the 7th of November at the HUB Gallery in Cape Town, showcasing works by four exceptional Southern African artists: Lionel Mbayiwa, Rentia Retief, Kenneth Ndumiso, and Madeleine van Manen.

Running until the 10th of January 2025, the exhibition marks another milestone for the NCX program, which, in collaboration with Spier Arts Trust, has become a vital platform for emerging artists to hone their craft and gain global exposure. Since its inception in 2011, NCX has supported artists with mentorship, material sponsorships, and group exhibitions, helping them transition to professional success.

The Promise delves into the theme of belonging, with each artist exploring this universal concept through their unique lens. Nando’s, known for its commitment to Southern African creativity, sees the NCX program as a powerful bridge connecting local talent with international audiences.

Visitors are encouraged to experience this vibrant exhibition at HUB Gallery before it moves to AVA Gallery in January 2025.

We are joined on the line by Kenneth Shandu, Contemporary Artist.
