Today we shine a light on Olorato Mongale, a 30-year-old woman remembered for her warm smile, outspoken voice, and firm stance on women’s empowerment. She attended a retreat with Rebasadi, an organisation that uplifts female entrepreneurs. Her life was cut short in a tragedy that has sent shockwaves through Johannesburg and beyond.
Olorato was found murdered near Lombardy West after going missing on the 25th of May and police have since launched an urgent search for a man known only as John, believed to have picked her up from her Athol residence in a white VW Polo bearing a cloned number plate.
According to police, the vehicle was later linked to her murder, with parts of her belongings found discarded in Kew. As the investigation unfolds, the call for justice grows louder, not only for Olorato but for all women whose lives are taken through senseless violence. We are joined on the line by Tebatso Molapo founder of Re Basadi and Nonhlanhla Mcina, close friend of Olorato Mongale
