A new national study is offering a closer look at what South African women are truly prioritising in their lives and careers.
The Riverbed Agency has released its Care Barometer: Discovering What Women Care About 2025, a report that explores how women navigate their daily challenges while holding onto their long-term goals.
While 41 percent of women surveyed listed financial independence as their top priority, fewer placed career growth or further education near the top highlighting the gap between ambition and what’s possible under current conditions.
From internal struggles with confidence to societal expectations around caregiving and family roles, the data reveals the weight many women carry.
The barometer also shows how these pressures shape career decisions, with women frequently adjusting their professional ambitions to accommodate home responsibilities.
