The ANFASA Publishing Grant Programme in partnership of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture is once again opening doors for South African writers and publishers. The initiative offers vital support to the literary community, with up to R80,000 available per manuscript for approved publishers and R25,000 for writers with unpublished work. It also ensures that editors and subject experts involved in the process are fairly compensated.
This grant has already helped bring dozens of books to shelves, from bold new fiction and theatre scripts to political essays and anthologies in indigenous languages. It plays a key role in nurturing local talent, supporting job creation, and growing skills in the creative economy. To further unpack we are joined on the line by Prof. Sihawukele Ngubane, Chairperson of ANFASA
