Menstrual equity takes center stage at the She PowHer Summit 2025, a gathering set set to take place on the 29th of May hosted by The She PowHer Foundation, which coincides with World Menstrual Health Day and brings together voices from government ministers to global development agencies to elevate menstrual health as a critical investment in human capital. Under the theme “A Touch of Red”, the Summit aims to transform a long-silenced issue into a national priority tied to education, economic opportunity, and dignity. Featured speakers include Honourable Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga, representatives from UNFPA, Aspen’s Dr. Stavros Nicolaou, and humanitarian Yavi Madurai.
At the helm is Dr. Ruth Apostolov, an award-winning South African changemaker and founder of The She PowHer Foundation. With over 30,000 menstrual cups distributed across Southern Africa, Dr. Ruth’s vision has kept thousands of girls in school and advanced sustainable development through the Foundation’s locally manufactured, SABS-compliant menstrual cup—offering up to 10 years of protection. She joins us on the line.
