From the 26th of October to 1st of November 2025, cyclists from across the world will take on the Nedbank Gravel Burn, a 800-kilometre, seven-day gravel cycling race stretching from Knysna to Shamwari.
More than just a test of endurance, this race weaves through South Africa’s lesser-known terrains across the sweeping plains of the Great Karoo through Big Five country.
One of the race’s most memorable stops is Graaff-Reinet, where cyclists trade speed for stillness and asphalt for gravel.
Here, Drostdy Hotel offers more than just a place to sleep, it becomes part of the experience.
With Africology spa treatments, local cuisine at De Camdeboo Restaurant, and access to the Karoo Origins Fossil Centre, this historic retreat balances the rawness of the ride with rest and reflection.
Joining us on the line is Luzaan Preston, Sales and Marketing Manager at Drostdy Hotel...
