Recently five individuals were recognized for their contributions to the craft and shaping a more diverse industry at the 2025 Annual Wine Harvest Commemorative Event. Among them is Praisy Dlamini, General Manager and Winemaker at Adama Wines, who took home the Growing Inclusivity Award for her efforts in reshaping the industry. Under her leadership, Adama Wines managed entirely by a team of young black women has become a symbol of transformation and empowerment.
Dlamini’s journey from KwaZulu-Natal to becoming the first woman Protégé of the Cape Winemakers Guild is a testament to her resilience and passion for the craft. Her work extends far beyond the cellar, through the HER Wine Collection brand, she has spearheaded a scholarship fund that empowers the next generation of winemakers. She joins us on the line
