COTALand , which is set to fully open this year, is facing the $1-million-dollars civil suit for not having an evacuation plan during the malfunction, which is alleged to have caused one rider serious injury after cell phone video shows Matthew Cantu and Nicholas Sanchez stuck in a near-90-degree position about 120-feet in the air when a ride called the "circuit breaker" got stuck. The lawsuit says the riders were stuck for about an hour, and a spokesperson says in a statement: "we regret the inconvenience and are glad that out of the 25,000 people that have ridden the coaster, only two have this badge of courage." Also, some lawmakers on the state and federal level are talking more about a suspension of the gas tax in an effort to give relief to consumers. The idea is gaining bipartisan support here in Texas, with democrats like state rep James Talarico and republicans like senator John Cornyn voicing their support for the idea.
