The plight of Doornkop residents’

Examining the findings of a book called: Development, Social Policy and Community: Lessons from Below. The research reveals that poverty is felt by almost everyone in the area, as everyone is trying hard to survive and it also indicates a high rate of symptoms of depression and anxiety among women caregivers in Doornkop, at 43%. The reasons for this include poverty, hunger and financial stress. So how can the community of Doornkop be assisted moving forward? We find out from our guests.
