The City of Johannesburg is one of the key metros in our country that’s housing the major financial institutions including the stock exchange. But sadly it is also the municipality that has not been able to allow a mayor to finish his or her term. We’ve seen some of the fiercest political wrangling with mayors removed through motions of no confidence. Two weeks ago members of civil society marched in protest calling on the current mayor KabeloGwamanda to step down.
