Our next guest hails from Soweto, Johannesburg and is one of the most sought-after orchestra conductors in South Africa. He grew up in a musical family and took up the cello at the age of eleven. In 2006, Masote made his conducting debut in a concert of the music of Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Todd Matshikiza. He has went on to conduct and work alongside Kwesta, Khuli Chana, Kabomo, Maleh, Lira and Sibongile Khumalo. His twenty-five years as a professional classical music practitioner, combined with his radio experience, have shaped his trademark informative classical music presentations. Recently, he has been working on music scoring for an upcoming documentary called The Arch.
