A version of Netflix with ads is one step closer to being a reality, according to a recent announcement.
The company is set to launch Netflix Basic With Ads next month in at least twelve countries. This version of Netflix will be cheaper for subscribers, but will have ads mixed in with the content.
While places like Australia and the US will be able to get Netflix Basic With Ads, New Zealand has been left off the list of countries set to get it for the time being.
Steve Newall, editor at Flicks.co.nz, spoke to us about the announcement and what motivated Netflix to launch this system, as they're currently the first major streaming company to introduce ads into the mix.
