Amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, one filmmaker has made a start on depicting history as it continues to unfold.
The Wizard of the Kremlin is an adaptation of the book of the same name and it follows the political landscape of post-Soviet Russia and President Vladimir Putin's resulting rise to power.
French filmmaker Olivier Assayas says making a movie about modern history comes with risks and concerns - since the world can change in five minutes these days.
"You're dealing with a battleground that's very much alive, and anything can happen, including major events that would make your movie worthless or pointless. I always had in the back of my mind - okay, we're shooting, we're rewriting this, we're preparing this, we're shooting this, where will we be in a year?"
