Governor Gavin Newsom postponed his annual State of the State address today, awaiting the final outcomes of the Prop 1 ballot measure that is pivotal to his strategy to address the growing mental health crisis, homelessness and the housing shortages plaguing California.

Proposition 1 failed to gain strong lead, as it was only narrowly ahead in the last ballot count, and the opposition has already conceded, so we want to know how close will it be.

Why did Governor Newsom postpone today's State of the State address?

If at first you don't succeed try try again; a previously unsuccessful effort to lower the voting age to 16 in the city of San Francisco is once again underway. 

If passed the measure would grant 16 and 17-year-old San Franciscans the right to vote in local elections.

Previous attempts to lower the voting age narrowly failed in 2016 and 2020.

You’ve seen it at the airport: a CLEAR lane, separate from the general security line and the TSA PreCheck line, where flyers pay an annual fee to a private company to speed through based on their biometric data. They get escorted ahead of even the regular PreCheck customers to get through security that much more quickly.

A Southern California lawmaker is fed up with CLEAR customers cutting to the head of the line and has introduced legislation that could see California become the first state to restrict those lanes.
